Public Health England figure
Public Health England figures
Public Health England figures released on 16 February, show that the highest rates of child obesity are concentrated in the capital
These figures offer a shameful dose of reality about the severe health problems that can be caused by social inequalities and poverty in our capital.
Government cuts have not helped and have let young people down in our community, with less funding available for youth services and activities.
However, it is positive to see that the Mayor is taking this issue seriously, with his plans to set up a Child Obesity taskforce which aims to tackle this epidemic by 2028.
